Some of the more unusual desk sets we come across weren't made by "The Big Four" (Parker, Sheaffer, Wahl-Everhsarp, Waterman) but by smaller, equally high quality writing instrument companies. Desk sets are always in demand, and we try to list them as soon as we find them, before we're tempted to keep them for ourselves!

Kal De-Set Art Deco cast metal desk set and perpetual calendar. Exceptional streamlined Art Deco styling! Calendar is working and turning the little wheels in front changes day, month and date. Check out the photo showing the wheel system housed underneath the desk set! Single pen groove across the front, ashtray on right hand side, single black bakelite pen holder in center rear. We’ve added a basic black dip pen which fit’s the pen holder perfectly. Measures 8.5 in across x 5 in deep and is 3 inches tall. Excellent condition.

Unknown Maker Double Desk Set - black weighted plastic oval shaped double desk set. Single pen groove across the width of the base. Black open style holders swivel 360 degrees. Two black desk ballpoint pens with gold plated trim included. Set measures 12 inches wide x 3 3/8 inches deep. Each pen is 6 inches long. Light wear on base, pens are in excellent condition with new refills.

Lasercraft Desk Set with Sheaffer Pens - Solid walnut double desk set with laser engraved tree in center. Fixed pen holders. Two black Sheaffer slim desk style ballpoint pens with new refills included. Set measures 8.75 x 3.5 inches. Each pen is 7.25 inches long. Very good condition.

Unknown Maker Single Desk Set - Black weighted plastic single desk set. Black open style pen holder rotates 360 degrees. Black desk ballpoint pen with gold plated trim included. Base measures 5.75 x 3 7/8 inches at widest points. Desk ballpoint pen measures 6 inches long. Just a hint of wear on the base, pen is in excellent condition with new refill.

Morrissette Desk Set, Bert Morris Co, Los Angeles, California - Burgundy art deco base with matching burgundy pen with black taper. Morrisette steel nib, fine point. Base measures 4 x 3 inches at widest points, dipless style pen is 6 inches long. Name engraved on top of base below pen hole: Dr. R.S. Ross. Both base and pen are in very good condition.

PAL Precision Desk Set - Black weighted plastic single desk set with single pen groove across the front. Fixed black pen holder. Black desk ballpoint pen with gold plated trim included. Base measures 4.25 x 3 inches. Desk ballpoint pen measures 6 inches long. Inset ribbed non-slip rubber pad on base. Very good condition.

Unknown Maker Single Desk Set - Onyx base is a a mix of deep copper, brown, ivory and white colors. Black pen holder. Includes new old stock matte black finished desk style ballpoint pen, uses Cross style refills. Base measures 2.5 x 3.5 inches, ballpoint pen is 6.75 inches long. There are a few very tiny nicks to edge, barely noticeable.

Art Deco Desk Set - Very stunning and an unusual design, too. Black glazed porcelain base with bakelite center ink holding tube and ivory celluloid stepped ends. When I purchased this, I thought the ink holding tube was pure decoration, but as I cleaned it up, the small black plug to the left of the pen comes out and allows you to refill with ink. Base measures 3 x 4 inches. We've included a deep yellow bakelite dip pen fit with feed and gold plated fine point nib. The dip pen measures 6.5 inches long. Very good condition - no chips or nicks to the porcelain. There is a slight color shift at the section of the dip pen.
