Barrel printed in matte gold: Go Hawks Iowa Hawkeyes and U of Iowa Hawkeyes logo. Threaded cap. Uses Sheaffer Classic Ballpoint refills, fresh refill installed. University of Iowa attended the Rose Bowl a number of times in: 1957, 1959, 1982, 1986, 1991 and 2015. This one appears to from the 1982 game where Iowa lost to Washington 0-28. Too bad for the Hawkeyes that year! This group of fountain pen nibs last lived in the Sheaffer Pen Co in Fort Madison, however they are all in envelopes marked Radiant Point Pen Corp, 270 Lafayette Street, New York City. Each envelope is marked by hand with the nib number , brief info and the date 6-12-40. It seems reasonable that Sheaffer was perhaps exploring nib makers for gold plated nibs at this time. Each marked Warranted Iridium Tip.

Set of 2 Sheaffer Sales Convention Ribbons. One each from 1950 and 1951

Sheaffer Sales Convention Ribbons Set of 2. One each from 1950 and 1951. Small brass frame at the top pin on back has space for insertion of a name. Each measures 5.25 x 2 1/8 inches. The ribbons with gold foil imprints were both badly wrinkled and we’ve ironed out most of the wrinkles.  To where they are just a little wavy now. Hmmm…1950 and 1951, I would think the news would be how successful the recently introduced Touchdown Fountain Pens and perhaps some buzz about the soon to come Snorkel? There are many past photos in the Sheaffer Pen Museum of past Sales Conventions which were held i
