The highest monthly payment at this time was $4.66! There is even an extensive section in the back of the book on prices of various procedures and their costs. A tonsillectomy was $25, Delivery of a Child was $50. The most expensive we saw was $150 for a spinal operation. The policy was issued by the Travelers Insurance Co in Hartford, CT. SH3353  Sheaffer Reminder Clip Ballpoint Pen, ca. 1960s, ivory barrel with NASCAR Winston Cup Grand National Drivers logo in red with black and white checkerboard flag, smooth finish chrome cap with the sleek curved reminder clip to extend and retract current production Sheaffer BP refill. Sheaffer is not engraved anywhere on this pen which is unusual and leads me to think perhaps this was an early example of the curved reminder clip. Measures 5 5/16 inches long. Excellent condition. Sheaffer Factory Double “Paint Screen” used for painted finishes on Prelude Pens. Measures 14 x 7 inches. All steel, the two screens can be removed from frame, each screen measure 6 x 5.75 inches. I remember touring the Sheaffer factory and seeing this in action machine where a worker managed the painted finishes onto Prelude pens, it was really quite amazing. The two individual screens can be removed from the frame. Note the photo which was taken in our kitchen, we mounted 5 screens for a little industrial art in our kitchen!  (8 available)

W1070  Jennings Bros No. JM18B Inkstand. ca. Late 1890s, Made in Bridgeport, CT. Jennings Bros was in business 1891-1950. They specialized in Art Nouveau designs and manufactured a wide range of items: Inkstands, Clocks, Bookends and small statues. This particular inkstand is marked on the base JM18B for the model number. The gold plated finish has some subtle signs of olive green still remaining on the front tray which would have held dip pen nibs and the ornamentation at the back of the stand. Lift off inkwell lid. Includes a white milkglass inkwell insert.
